WHO WE ARE AND HOW WE WORK
Women in Media is now a collection of student-led projects in universities across the U.K. Each year a new body of students can take up the society at their university.
These societies are supported and overseen by the national Women in Media board, who have had roles running the Women in Media conference in the past four years. From providing a tailor-made toolkit to get them started, to being there to support setting up events to getting sponsorship, the national board is here to help Women in Media continue to grow.
NATIONAL WOMEN IN MEDIA NETWORK
Since launching our national network in 2018, Women in Media societies have been established in several university cities around the UK. Each society has been working to put on their own events, celebrating and supporting established professional women in media, and supporting those looking to explore their career possibilities in this industry.
Societies at Cambridge University and City University London have already hosted several events, from DJ nights to networking evenings to mini-conferences, and are going from strength to strength.
Applying for a society is quick and easy, and anyone can apply – no matter your experience. All we ask is you have a passion and commitment to helping support other women looking to enter the media.
