ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE AND HOW WE WORK

Women in Media is now a collection of student-led projects across the U.K. Anyone can start a Women in Media society at their university, college or school, running events and creating opportunities to inspire and empower.

These societies are supported and overseen by the national Women in Media board, made up of past Conference chairs. From providing a tailor-made toolkit to get them started, to supporting events and sponsorship, the national board is here to help Women in Media continue to grow.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

At Women in Media, our focus is to champion the aspirations of all those who identify as women from all backgrounds, of all ages, and with a whole range of life experiences. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to achieve their dream career.

We are unafraid to confront the multiple prejudices that hold women back, combatting discrimination based on sexuality, race, ethnicity, age, gender, and disability through our network of successful, ambitious women around the UK. We are proud to shine a light on diversity and the myriad issues holding those identifying as women back.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us here.

NATIONAL WOMEN IN MEDIA NETWORK

Since launching our national network in 2018, Women in Media societies have been established in several university cities around the UK. Each society has been working to put on their own events, celebrating and supporting those looking to explore their career possibilities in this industry.

Applying for a society is quick and easy, and anyone can apply – no matter your experience. All we ask is you have a passion and commitment to helping support other women looking to enter the media.
